Aroma: Intense, deep black currant and black cherry, intermixed with white pepper, a touch of anisette, fresh lavender and warm red stones.
Flavors: An elegant melange of black cherry, mountain lavender, espresso been and savory notes. Signature Howell Mountain pepper and spice enter on the mid-palate, followed by an invigorating minerality.
Finish: The dark fruit keeps evolving, enlivened by a bouquet of violets and iris, together with coffee bean and cola. rong> Leaps out of the glass with vibrant red currant, wild raspberry and black cherry, further enlivened by notes of cracked pepper, lavender, savory spices, warm red rock and Howell Mountain bramble.

Finish: The sweet tannins stride down the finish, bringing along black pepper, cigar box spice and a pronounced minerality.

Aroma: A heady perfum of deep black plum, currant, cocoa and cassis, enlivened by Bordeaux-style notes of graphite, tobacco and cedar.
Flavours: A formidable entry of Mt Veeder black fruit, sweet cassis, currant and cocoa powder flows across the palate, underlain with pencil lead, lively mineral notes, and a hint of burning embers.
Finish: A huge, persistent core of deep black cherry and berry powers through the finish, bolstered by fine-grained mountain tannins and enlivened by bracing acidiy.
The 2009 Mt Veeder Cabernet is a big, broad-shouldered wine loaded with class and personality. Firm tannins provide the backdrop for layers of dark red fruit in this super-expressive, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. Tar, licorice, menthol, iron and smoke nuances develop in the glass, adding a sense of gravitas. This is a striking totally beautiful wine.
