It has been produced in Cartagena, Spain by the Diego Zamora Group since 1924 although this smooth, golden nectar originated from a thousand year old Roman recipe then known as “Mirabilis”, latin for “marvelous”.
The name itself derives from the 43 basic elements which comprise it, principally fruit and fragrant herbs, with a touch of vanilla, all carefully selected which make LICOR 43 a unique and unmistakable drink. It is consumed neat, on the rocks , as the famous “ minibeers”, in 100s of cocktails both hot and cold and is also used in cooking and baking all over the world.
