2009 Napa Valley Chardonnay

* Official Wine Calgary Stampede 2011

Frank Family Vineyards' 2008 Napa Valley Chardonnay is abundant and vivacious; it opens with aromas of citrus blossom, honeysuckle, white peach, and pippin apple. These vibrant aromas are countered by orange peel oil, roasted hazelnuts, and poached pears with Tahitian vanilla bean sauce. The palate is luscious, smooth, and lively; bursting with stone fruit, kumquat, and Pink Pearl apple Tarte Tatin, the mid palate expresses country scones with warm lemon curd and fresh baked sugar cookies, and the finish lingers exposing notes of toasted nuts and subtle hints of smoke, while being accented by wildflower honey throughout.

2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

*90 points Wine Spectator

The 2007 Frank Family Vineyard’s Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep purple color. The aromas are brimming with sweet blackberries, Tahitian vanilla, chocolate dusted espresso beans and spiced cake with raspberry coulis. As further layers emerge; notes of aniseed, sage browned butter, and cigar box come forward. The palate is profuse and lively bursting with juicy cherries, blackberry pie topped with cardamom ice cream, and fresh brewed coffee with a touch of cinnamon. These classic aromas are harmoniously balanced by a well structured mouthfeel of velvety tannins that are wonderfully polished yet youthful with lasting grip.

Frank Family Vineyards 2008 Napa Valley Zinfandel is dark and rich in color, reminiscent of violets. This classic Zinfandel leads with sweet blackberry jam, white and black pepper and clove spice. Further opulence emerges as layers of black cherry, blueberry and Asian spice are exposed. The palate is big, bold and ripe with juicy brambleberry and warm plum pudding, supported by integrated tannin and spice, giving a full mid palate and setting the stage for the long supple finish.
