Founded in 1985 by Napa Valley natives Frank and Karen Altamura, Altamura Vineyards and Winery is located on a sprawling natural ranch on Wooden Valley Road in Napa Valley where estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese are meticulously produced.
Frank Altamura’s passion for detail is clearly defined by his richly textured, highly collectable wine. It is no surprise that Altamura wines receive the following, acclaim and accoades they do; the latest being that the 2007 Caberent Sauvignon has the number 5 spot on Wine Spectator's list of Top 100 Wines for 2010.
100% Sangiovese
The appealingly distinctive Wooden Valley ranch terroir connects Altamura's wines creating focus and perspective. An intense deep wine with fruit flavors that characterize Altamura sangiovese.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
On the heels of the outstanding showing of the 2007 Cabernet, there was much anticipation for what the new vintage would bring. Although it was a much smaller harvest than the prior year, the 2008 is actually drinking better and is more approachable than the 2007 is today. Keeping in stride with the superior quality coming from our Wooden Valley estate.
