Sasha, a Certified Sommelier, came to WineRunners after successfully having owned and managed a wine agency in British Columbia, and also as a Sales Representative in the Liquor industry. Amongst her many accomplishments, Sasha has created recognition and thus significant marketshare for brands she has represented, thanks not only to her knowledge of wines, but also to her extensive background and training in merchandising, marketing, management and business administration. She has appeared regularly on City TV Ottawa's " Breakfast on the New RO" program, where she taught wine and food education in both English and French on behalf of some of Ottawa's finest hotels and restaurants. Sasha's knowledge of wines, the liquor industry and her strong business background make her a valuable resource and integral part of our team, as she has a broad understanding of every aspect of the wonderful world of wine, from the supplier, to the licensee and of course, the consumer.
Lauryn’s love of fine wine began during her extensive travels abroad while working for Paul Hardy Design in the fashion industry. Her original interest in haute couture evolved into a passion for wine as she discovered that wine not only reflects a country’s terroir, but also the heart of its people. While she pursued her Bachelor of Commerce, Lauryn remained connected to the hospitality industry. Her understanding of wines deepened while working as a server in highly regarded Calgary establishments such as Muse Group and Wine Bar Kensington. The appreciation evolved further as did her career; Lauryn went on to become involved in management and training capacities with UNA Group where she assisted with the creation firstly of UNA Pizzeria, and then Ox & Angela. She is currently pursuing her level II WSET accreditation, and when she can, Lauryn enjoys yoga, curling up with a good book and of course a glass of one of WineRunners’ fine wines.
Jasmine’s love of and passion for fine wines began years ago in the hospitality industry when she worked as Administrative Assistant in Caffé de Medici Ristorante Italiano, a well known fine dining restaurant in Vancouver (now Caffe de Medici Fine Foods Ltd). While her skills and extensive experience in management, marketing and sales pulled her into other directions and as far away as Las Vegas and Los Angeles, her love of good wine and food eventually brought her back to where her heart lies- the wine industry. Most recently before joining WineRunnners, Jasmine worked for the BCLDB as a Sales Associate. She is currently pursuing her level II WSET accreditation at the Art Institute of Vancouver and spends any spare time she can find with her beautiful daughter.
Cathy came to WineRunners having moved back to Canada from New Zealand where she was our point of contact at Stonyridge Vineyard on Waiheke Island. Cathy knows and appreciates the passion that goes into making a bottle of wine and offers a wealth of valuable resources to WineRunners with a background in accountancy, sales, office and event management. She will ensure all who deal with WineRunners have a seamlessly smooth experience thanks to her freindly, courteous and professional demeanor.
Philippe has spent the last 11 years working in the marketing and hospitality industries as a consultant, owner, manager and bartender with brands in AUS, UK, USA, CAN & the UAE. As a young, passionate consulting entrepreneur business educated at the University of Waterloo, Phil claims most of his education came once he left university and travelled through his palate and the desire to work in some of the most exciting markets around the world. He now spends his time in Canada focusing on “helping business owners sleep better at night” in the new economy, while growing brands in the national and global markets. While his mission is to help make the hospitality industry a little more hospitable and a lot more profitable, Phil makes time for rock climbing and mountaineering, is adamant that "protein bars & coffee are food groups" and will interrupt any activity to take calls from client #1, 2 & 3, his Mom.
